On August 12-13, a charity swim of 1.3 and 6 kilometers will be held in the village of Pidhirtsi on Blakytne (Blue) lake in the Kyiv region. As part of the swim, they plan to raise funds for grenade launchers for Honor Company of the “Wolves of Da Vinci” battalion.
“Mobile grenade launchers allow soldiers to quickly change firing positions, both in the fields and in the city. This is exactly what is needed for an effective counteroffensive,” say the organizers of the swim.
The goal of the fundraiser is to collect 2 million 400 thousand hryvnias for two Ukrainian-made UAG-40 grenade launchers. This is due to a range of more than 2 kilometers and the ability to hit lightly armored vehicles and defensive structures.
According to the site with information about the gathering and swimming, all participants will receive backpacks, water, chips and medals. The medals are the finisher’s casings from the bullet of the 30-mm BTR-82A gun, which, together with the full ammunition of the Da Vinci Wolves, was captured during the liberation of the village of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy in Kharkiv Oblast.
You can also join the swim online. The participant chooses the place, time and distance that is comfortable for him or her. And to confirm the result and register it, you need to take a photo or screenshot from any application or tracker with the result and send it to the organizers.
