Ukraine, together with American partners, will launch a community energy sustainability project.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, this was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, during a meeting with the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, Director of the USAID Mission Theodora Dell, and American energy experts.
It is already known that the parties discussed the launch of a joint project that will strengthen the stability of the energy infrastructure in war and emergency situations.
“We approach recovery systematically. Our task now is not only to ensure a successful heating season, but also to implement complex solutions for the stable operation of the energy system in the coming years.
We are working on three components: the use of the already existing infrastructure for the development of small distributed generation, the introduction of highly efficient cogeneration and the gradual transition to renewable energy sources,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.
He also added that restoration of damaged infrastructure and protection of energy facilities remain among the tasks, so the best technical solutions are currently being worked out.
In the near future, it is planned to work out the road map of the joint project and identify communities for launching pilot projects.
