Finally, after a long-term break, the Viennese Ball will take place in Kyiv. The legendary event will last for two days — October 27th and 28th. The mayors of Vienna and Kyiv, the Ukrainian-Austrian Association, the National Commission for UNESCO and the Diaspora from the United States are engaged in the Ball.
The significant international cultural event will make it possible to reaffirm Ukraine as a European state, so it is referred to one of the most important issues of cultural diplomacy.
“This year’s Philanthropic Viennese Ball is sustained in the best classical traditions and canons, proper for such international events. Symbolically, the Vienna Ball will be held right now and in the European city of Kyiv, with the participation of state and cultural figures from Austria, Ukraine and other countries. We consider this chance to be a unique opportunity to embody the key universal values that underpin the principles of UNESCO activity — they are, first of all, mutual understanding, peace and tolerance“, — believes the Head of the Organizing Committee of the Ball, the UNESCO artist in the name of peace, the Ambassador of Ukrainian culture, Herman Makarenko.
Viennese Balls in the world are charitable projects. The funds, collected from the sale of lots at the auctions during the Ball in Kyiv, will be aimed at the development of the Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities. At the charity auction, exclusive lots will be given by honourary guests from abroad.
There must be the representatives of the royal Habsburgs-Lothringen dynasty, the Austrian Archduke Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen with his wife — Princess Herta Margaret, the owner of the elite house of French wines Clovis Tettenge, designer of Michael Jackson Keith Holman, a well-known singer from the United States, Mary Wilson and others among the guests of the Ball.
