The UAE will allow transit flights to pass through Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah international airports in the coming days as a positive step towards the gradual restoration of normalcy.

Abu Dhabi’s imposition of temporary entry and exit restrictions re- flects efforts to further reduce the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the country’s massive testing campaign is working, according to the Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi has announced the easing of restrictions on restaurants out- side malls, hotel beaches, and museums, with capacity capped at 40 per- cent.

Dubai fully reopened its shopping malls on Wednesday, with all malls and private sector businesses permitted to operate at 100 percent capacity for the first time in more than two months.

The UAE has donated USD 10 million worth of PCR COVID-19 testing kits sufficient for 500,000 people to the World Health Organization.

The 4th UAE-Egypt Joint Political Consultations Committee was convened today, wherein high-level officials discussed the latest COVID-19 developments and affirmed the importance of exchang- ing best practices in the health, food security, and education sec- tors in light of the pandemic.

The UAE has intensified efforts to increase its food security and local agricultural production, with efforts underway to encourage local farm- ers to embrace new technologies and expand the country’s overseas supply network beyond more than 60 nations.

Abu Dhabi Ports Co. will begin operating a new shipping company this month to help the UAE avoid disruptions to imports of food and medical supplies.

Al Razeen Field Hospital in Abu Dhabi, which was set up in nine days and will last for 10 years, has been highlighted in Indian and Pakistani media. With the majority of the hospital’s patients hailing from the two countries, media have noted the high quality of patient care and facility offerings.

The UAE has sent humanitarian aid this week to Grozny and Dagestan, Russia, as well as Madagascar and Cuba, raising total UAE COVID-19 assis- tance to 708 metric tons of aid to 62 countries in need, supporting more than 708,000 medical professionals in the process.
