Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan directed the Grand National Assembly of the country to ratify the protocol on Sweden’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance.

“The protocol on Sweden’s accession to NATO was signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 23, 2023 and submitted for consideration by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey,” the press service said.
Earlier, the President of Turkey said that the ratification of Sweden’s application to join NATO will be considered by the parliament in October, since that is when the legislative body will meet after the summer vacation. But later this event was threatened after a series of Koran-burning actions in Sweden.
