Iran announced that it had received the technology to create a supersonic cruise missile. The rocket is already at the test stage.
This was reported in the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim.
“The employment of ramjet engines in the naval cruise missiles and development of supersonic cruise missiles will greatly enhance Iran’s response power in case of any military conflict and prevent the invading forces from showing timely reaction,” the agency’s website states.
This missile belongs to the generation of new cruise missiles and it is believed that it will become a new chapter in the defense power of Iran.
As European Pravda points out, the statement appeared against the background of growing tensions in relations with the US in the Persian Gulf and after last week Iran presented new ships equipped with missiles with a range of 600 km.
