The Japanese and Korean militaries said the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea had launched a long-range ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan. Its launch lasted more than an hour.
As reported by Yonhap, the launch of the missile was recorded at around 10 am local time by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces. The projectile flew for 74 minutes. The Japanese TV channel Asahi notes that its flight time is still a record among North Korean missiles.
It is also known that the height of the rocket’s flight was six thousand kilometers, the range was one thousand kilometers. And it fell outside the exclusive economic zone of Japan, which expressed a strong protest from the DPRK due to its launch.
“North Korea fired a suspected long-range ballistic missile toward the East Sea on Wednesday, South Korea’s military said, amid tensions raised by the reclusive regime’s accusations against U.S. spy aircraft operations earlier this week,” Yonhap reported.
