Today, October 1, Ukraine celebrated the Day of Defenders of Ukraine.
Previously, it was celebrated on October 14, but later there was a need to postpone the event in connection with the transition to the New Julian calendar of the OCU from September 1, 2023.
“All those who feel their strength sincerely rejoice in victories and bow their heads to those who are on the shield. May God protect you and the Protection of the Holy Mother of God! Thank you, every defender and every defender!” – said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi in his greeting to the soldiers.
As Detector media points out, on October 1, at 9:00 a.m., a large-scale minute of silence was held across the country in the central squares and streets of Ukrainian cities in memory of all fallen Ukrainian soldiers.
Also on this day Ukraine celebrates the Day of Education Workers, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks, the Day of Territorial Defense, the Day of the Veteran and the Day of the Sociologist.
