Romania decided to join the declaration of the G7 countries in support of Ukraine, presented on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius.

This is reported by European Pravda with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.

This declaration is a framework document on “security guarantees” for Ukraine. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Luminica Odobescu informed the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about this decision during a telephone conversation.

“The heads of Romanian and American diplomacy discussed the latest events on the Black Sea, including the consequences of the Russian Federation’s decision to suspend participation in the Black Sea Initiative on grain exports,” the statement said.

They also condemned Russia’s recent attacks on the civilian population, river and sea infrastructure, and Russia’s “cynical attitude to global food security.”

Both sides agreed to maintain ties with like-minded partners in order to continue to help Ukraine in the long term.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania presented the measures that Romania has already taken, as well as those that are being considered in the short- and medium-term perspective, to support the transit potential of agricultural products from Ukraine.
