Ukrainian diplomat Oleksiy Makeev gave an interview to the newspaper Die Rheinische Post, where he talked about the current state of events in Ukraine, the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons, the conditions for achieving peace and punishing war criminals.
Makeyev noted that Kyiv currently sees no chance of achieving peace with Russia through negotiations. He believes that Russia should be defeated, because otherwise there will be no peace.
Speaking about the possibility of Moscow using nuclear weapons, the Ukrainian diplomat said that we have already seen that Putin is ready for anything, and therefore we must be ready for any development.
“Russia can quickly end the war by withdrawing all its troops from the occupied territories – including Crimea. But Russia does not want that, so we need your support. It is also in the interests of the free world that war criminals are brought to justice, as well as leaders who orders about these crimes. Russia also has to pay financially for the destruction – not European or German taxpayers, but Russian ones,” the ambassador of Ukraine added.
