The Czech Republic is demanding that Ukraine appoint a full-fledged ambassador in Prague a year after his absence.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic Vit Rakušan stated this in the CNN Prima News program, Radio Prague International reports.

The official expressed hope that a new ambassador would be appointed within a few weeks or months.

He also believes that the reason for the long-term absence of the Ukrainian ambassador in Prague is that “a number of high-ranking diplomats remain in Ukraine due to the long-term Russian invasion and deal primarily with domestic politics.”
