USA President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are planning to sign an agreement on the development of a missile to intercept hypersonic weapons next week.

This was reported by the publication Yomiuri.

On Sunday, August 13, the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri reported that the US president and the Japanese prime minister will sign an agreement to jointly develop a missile to intercept hypersonic weapons, but without citing sources.

As noted by DW, the US and Japan had previously agreed to consider the creation of such a missile at the meeting of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the country’s Defense Minister Lloyd Austin with their Japanese counterparts – Hayashi Yoshimasa and Yasukazu Hamada in January of this year.
