In the framework of the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Vice President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič.
The Head of State thanked the EU and personally the European Commissioner for their continued support for Ukraine in the implementation of energy reforms and ensuring our energy independence.
The President emphasized that Ukraine was committed to further reform the energy sector according to its obligations within the Treaty establishing the Energy Community and the Association Agreement with the EU.
The parties expressed content with the completion of the work necessary for the launch of the Energy Efficiency Fund of Ukraine. The EU is planning to allocate EUR 100 million to this Fund.
The parties discussed ways to further integrate the Ukrainian energy market into the EU market, as well as possible mechanisms for Ukraine to join the EU Energy Union.
