In the coming days, Ukraine will introduce an embargo on products from Poland that are popular among Ukrainians. The ban will include: onions, tomatoes, cabbage and apples.

Deputy Minister of Economy, trade representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka said this in an interview with the Polish publication Rzeczpospolita.

In connection with the ban of Poland, Hungary and Slovakia on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products, it is known from the interview that Ukraine plans to ban the import of goods from Poland. The list of banned products includes onions, tomatoes, cabbage and apples.

“We want to encourage Poland to take a step back and agree to this mechanism, which is not convenient for anyone, but is necessary so that this trade in goods does not harm Polish or Bulgarian farmers. If we monitor this turnover, then there will be no harm. But if the Polish government bans additional goods, it must react, because if we are talking about four goods for five months,” adds Kaczka.

As European Pravda points out, in turn, Denys Shmyhal previously said: “If Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia do not agree to the measures agreed with the European Commission, then Ukraine will introduce mirror or mutual trade restrictions. The most important thing to remember is that we are all on the same side. On the side of European values and democracy”.
