On April 28th, 2018, an international diplomatic golf tournament “Diplomatic Golf Cup 2018” was held on the territory of GolfStream Golf Club.
The main goal of the tournament was devoted to the unification of the countries and peoples with the assistance of the sport and to promote and strengthen the positive image of Ukraine at the international arena.
Representatives of more than 30 countries took part at the tournament. Among these representatives were the following VIP-persons: Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Finland in Ukraine Juha Virtanen, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Ukraine Alisher Abdualiev, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Palestine in Ukraine Mohamad Al-Asaad, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bolgaria in Ukraine Krasimir Minchev, The Head of the Delegation of European Union in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli, Charge d’Affaires of Malaysia in Ukraine Rina Hanis Rodzli, The Wife of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Federative Republic of Germany Mrs. Anna Decroue Raichel, the Head of the Consular Department of the Embassy of Republic of Georgia in Ukraine Irakli Rogava, The Head of the Economic, Political and Information Department of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ukraine Mrs. Nadjla Al-Rais, The Counselor for the Consular Affairs of the Embassy of Republic of Moldova in Ukraine Oleg Hinku , The Head of the Consular Department of the Embassy of Estonia in Ukraine Merel Pormister, The Secretary of the Embassy of Montenegro in Ukraine Ivan Adzic, Attaché of the Embassy of Republic of Italy in Ukraine Ermano Modesto.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine at the Tournament was represented by: Ambassador At Large Valery Zhovtenko, Consul General of Ukraine Serhiy Pohoreltsev, The Head of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry Oleksandr Danileiko, The First Secretary of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruslana Lynnyk
Whilst opening the tournament, editor-in-chief of the international diplomatic magazine «Fashion of Diplomacy» and organizer of the tournament, Anna Avramenko, turning to the players and guests, said:
«I hope that this tournament will transform into a good long tradition and we will hold it every year, and therefore if you are not lucky to become the winner this year, you will surely be lucky in the next one… Such events should shape up the informal space of communication, by means of which different states, different peoples and different cultures will better understand each other and will find common language»
The main prize of the tournament, a cup made of white gold and produced by Geraldo Diamond Club was given to Vasyl Derkach. Oleg Hrebelnikov got the second place and Alexander Gorokhovsky got the third place.
The visit of the editor-in-chief of The New York Times Susan Gooz was a very pleasant surprise. We dare to hope that our hospitality and sincerity have made a positive impression and we hope that in the nearest future the information about our golf tournament will appear on the pages of The New York Times
A lot of the remarkable representatives of business and arts elite joined the tournament, including the representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, the Ukrainian-Austrian Association, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Italy in Ukraine, the Ukrainian-Chinese International Business Center, the representatives of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, of the International diplomatic center of cooperation, etc.
The organizers of the golf tournament were: International Diplomatic Magazine “Fashion of Diplomacy” and advertising agency “AmediA Company”.
In addition to sports competitions, the following amusements were organaized: an entertaining program, a lottery with valuable gifts, a show of mirror people from Happy Time, a show of the KARUK & ZAYMAK collection, a presentation and a test drive of VOLVO cars.
The VIP-catering company organized the gastronomic part of the event where everyone could taste the dishes of different national cuisines of the world. The exclusive dish of the event was Uzbek pilaf cooked by the Chef of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine.
