On May 6, Ambassador of Ukraine S. Burdylyak met with the Head of the Department of International Affairs, Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Majlis of the Islamic Council of Iran Mr. H. A. Abdollahyan
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the need to intensify the political dialogue and establish closer inter-parliamentary contacts. In this context, the possibility of organizing a visit to Ukraine by the Speaker of the Mejlis of the Islamic Council, I.R.Iran, Dr. A. Larijani, was considered. Mr. H.A. Abdollahiyan expressed hope that in the nearest future a positive response would be received regarding the visit to the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament.
The participants of the meeting confirmed the importance of conducting regular political consultations at the level of Deputy Foreign ministers, as well as meetings of the Directors of the Departments of the consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Iran.
Mr. H.A. Abdollahiyan highly appreciated the dynamics of bilateral cooperation between the two states and indicated the willingness of the Iranian side to assist in elimination of the existing barriers, particularly in the banking sector, on the way for development of mutually beneficial bilateral relations.
