French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu with a delegation of 18 defense sector companies arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.
The Embassy of France in Ukraine reports this on the X social network, noting the following: “The day began with a touching moment of remembrance at the Wall of Heroes.”
The French publication Le Figaro notes that Lecornu arrived accompanied by representatives of two dozen defense industry enterprises to discuss aid to Ukraine, deepen contacts with Ukrainian colleagues and search for opportunities to sign contracts. The names of the companies were not released.
“For security reasons, the trip was kept a secret. The minister is expected to meet with his new colleague Rustem Umerov, Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin and possibly Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Sebastian Lecornyu already visited Kyiv in December of last year,” the publication writes.
