In Lviv, an entertainment and discovery park for children with disabilities has appeared in the yard of the “Zherelo” social services center.
This is reported by the Lviv City Council.
It is noted that the total area of the park is more than 1.1 thousand square meters. The construction was sponsored by the American couple, the founders of The Bridge of Life organization —Eddie and Tatyana Wein. The construction cost 60 thousand dollars.
The site was set up on Chervonaya Kalina Avenue, 86A, where the rehabilitation center “Zherelo” works, and it is intended only for children with disabilities.
For safety, the park was divided into two zones: for children with musculoskeletal disorders and children with autism spectrum disorders.
There are also circular carousels, sensory locations for eye contact, panels with the sounds of musical instruments, colorful rubber toys, a large slide and a mini-football field.
Eddie Wayne points out that children are turned to face the park so that they can see all the colors of life and beauty around them.
“These are not just carousels – all children with disabilities think they are flying when they ride on the swings. This is how they distract from reality and immerse themselves in a world where they are happy, warm and safe,” he adds.
