The President of Ukraine signed a decree on the provision of humanitarian aid to flood-affected Republic of Slovenia.
Heavy rains caused significant damage to the country and its citizens. Bridges were damaged, affecting roads and energy infrastructure. Many had to leave their homes and evacuate, and there were victims.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi reacted to the tragedy of the country.
“Ukraine provides humanitarian aid to Slovenia in connection with severe flooding. I signed the corresponding decree yesterday. We help our friends even when we are fighting at home. Solidarity works both ways,” the Ukrainian president wrote on Twitter.
On August 10, the said decree was posted on the president’s website. What kind of assistance will be provided is currently unknown.
