A field office of the International Criminal Court opened in Kyiv

On Thursday, during a briefing, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin and Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim Khan announced the opening of the ICC field office in Kyiv.

This is stated in the notification of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

“This is a new chapter of our cooperation. The work of the office will help to strengthen the interaction between Ukraine and the International Criminal Court. It will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of responding to the crimes that Russia continues to commit every day against Ukraine and Ukrainians,” Andriy Kostin reports.

It is noted that the field office of the International Criminal Court in Ukraine is the largest representation of the ICC outside The Hague.

The results of this work also include the historic warrant for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian President’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Lvova-Belova, which was issued by the International Criminal Court almost half a year ago.

“We are completely open and transparent. We provide all the necessary materials, access to crime scenes, evidence and testimonies. We do everything in our power so that the experts of the International Criminal Court can see the consequences of the aggressor’s crimes with their own eyes and draw their own unbiased conclusions,” he adds.
