Germany advocated for the Black Sea countries to provide ships for the military protection of Ukrainian ships. However, Marcus Faber does not believe that the deployment of escort forces under the auspices of NATO is possible.

Markus Faber, a member of the Bundestag and an expert on defense issues of the Free Democratic Party, said on the air of the RTL channel that Ukrainian ships with grain in the Black Sea must be provided with military support.

Therefore, to begin with, it is necessary to find out which countries, apart from Turkey, can provide ships for this.

“I think that other Black Sea countries, such as Bulgaria and Romania, should do this,” the expert added.

However, in his opinion, the deployment of support forces under the auspices of NATO is hardly possible. And Germany itself cannot provide its ships, because its navy “is at the limit of its capabilities.”
