Diplomatic Career
During his diplomatic career from mid 1990 to 2005 held management positions in the Ministry of Foreign Aff airs. As Deputy Minister of Foreign Aff airs made significant progress in the visa facilitation and fought against illegal migration. As Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus, Consul General in Washington (the USA), First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Helsinki (Finland) always defended the national interests of our country and helped ordinary people. During the events of September 11, 2001 coordinated eff orts of the Embassy to protect families of Ukrainian diplomats in America. Organized assistance to citizens of Ukraine, who were in the United States at that time.

People’s Deputy of Ukraine of VII Convocation
From 2012 to 2014 – First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Aff airs of Verkhovna Rada. Prepared drafts of Laws on election transparency, governmental accountability and open borders for Ukrainians. Commissioner under the President of Ukraine regarding citizenship, head of the delegation of Ukraine at negotiations with the European Commission regarding the agreements on visa facilitation and on readmission with the EU member states. Ukraine has signifi cantly liberalized visa regime with European countries during his work. At this time, an agreement with the EU on visa facilitation and an agreement with the USA, which included the introduction of 5-year US visas for citizens of Ukraine, were signed.
Twice Headed Security Service of Ukraine
In this position (in 2006-2010, 2014-2015) implemented Euro Atlantic strategy of Ukraine, initiated the implementation of military reform within the «Ukraine – NATO» working group. Thanks to the efforts aimed at declassifi – cation and digitizing of National Security Service archives was able to make them available to the public. In particular, one of the most tragic pages of our history – the genocide of the Ukrainian people – the Holodomor of 1932-33. As head of the National Security Service immediately approved a decision on freezing and mechanism of returning stolen assets of Yanukovych and «family» after the Revolution of Dignity. Successfully carried out work to prevent the invasion of Russian separatists in Ukraine. Put in extensive counterintelligence and counterterrorism reforms. In the public sector actively fi ghts against all forms of corruption at the highest levels of Ukrainian government.
Social and Political Activity
In 2015 he headed the GO «Anticorruption Movement of V. Nalyvaichenko», in the spring, 2016 PE «Social and Political Movement of V. Nalyvaychenko «Justice» was registered.
