In order to promote Ukraine’s positive image abroad the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan, in cooperation with the Ukrainian community, participated in one of the most important cultural events in Tokyo – the international festival “Minato City World Carnival”, which took place on March 25 near the Tokyo Tower, in the heart of the Japanese capital.
At the cultural stand of the Embassy there were presented Ukrainian traditional folk art objects such as pysanky, Petrykivka paintings, motanka dolls, rushniks and vyshyvanka that attracted due attention of the Japanese public. All guests who visited Ukrainian stand were provided with the explanation on the history, culture and tourist attractiveness of Ukraine.
Participants of the festival also had the opportunity to taste Ukrainian cuisine such as borsh, zrazy and cabbage rolls, prepared by the Ukrainian community “Kraiany”.
In addition, representatives of Ukraine took part in a concert held during the festival, introducing Ukrainian traditional music and folk dances to Japanese citizens.
